La-le-la

*An isiZulu word that means

“to listen”

Listening is at the heart of what we do.
By listening to children’s stories  and each community’s needs, we are able to understand their  challenges and, in turn, provide creative solutions and a way forward.

Through Lalela’s innovative arts curriculum and messaging component that promotes new thinking, we enable young people to map and achieve their dreams and goals, opening up new productive possibilities and futures for themselves and their communities.

Every day after school, during the hours when children are most in need of support due to a lack of supervision, among other factors, our programme provides a safe space where creativity is nurtured. We start with participants as young as six years old and continue to integrate the arts into every important aspect of their lives up to their high school graduation.

By building our curriculum at the intersection of arts education, academic achievement, and critical life skills, Lalela’s workshops activate whole-brain thinking, activating  the creative potential of youth from low-resourced settings, and enabling them to become innovative and impactful role models with meaningful careers.

At Lalela, we…

Always inspire with creativity

Reimagine challenge as opportunity
