During their time at Lalela, Butler and his guests joined learners from our Hout Bay programme at Oranjekloof School and Sentinel Primary, engaging in a collaborative art activity. Together, they decorated a Lalela tote bag, creating a beautiful artwork that reflected creativity and community, which is at the heart of Lalela’s work. Through this activity, the visitors had the chance to experience a Lalela classroom firsthand, witnessing the power of art as a tool for learning and personal growth.

In addition to the art activity, the Lalela Scarf—featuring artwork by Lalela learners—was promoted. The visitors appreciated these vibrant creations, with many purchasing and taking home scarves as reminders of the inspiring work Lalela does.
Butler’s ongoing support has been instrumental in elevating the visibility of the impactful work Lalela carries out. His commitment to the organisation continues to inspire others to get involved and support Lalela’s mission of using the arts to spark creativity and the entrepreneurial spirit in the youth we work with..
We are grateful for his dedication and for the time he and his friends spent with our learners, making this visit a memorable experience for all.
