South African Fundraiser: Celebrating 15 Years of Lalela
March 03, 2025

At Moyo Restaurant in Kirstenbosch Gardens, over 100 guests gathered to support the South African Lalela fundraiser and to celebrate a remarkable milestone: Lalela’s 15th anniversary. The event was a celebration of our journey, and the incredible community that has supported us along the way.
The picturesque setting of Kirstenbosch Gardens was the perfect backdrop for an evening filled with gratitude. Guests enjoyed an evening of home-grown entertainment, with performances by Felicity and the Trumpets, keeping everyone entertained.
As we reflected on 15 years of providing educational arts as an after-school programme, it was inspiring to hear the voice of Lalela alumnus Willoughby, at the event, who shared with guests the impact Lalela has had on his life.

Interactive Artmaking
Ahead of the main event, guests who signed up for our art workshop participated in a hands-on artmaking session. This interactive experience allowed participants to connect with their own creativity and gave them an understanding of the work Lalela does with youth.
The evening was made possible by the generosity of our sponsors, BMW Constantia and the Wilfred and Fay Back Trust, including the donors, supporters, and friends who make up the Lalela community. Your contributions continue to drive our work and inspire creativity in the lives of so many young people.
Thank you to guests for your contributions on the night.
Thank you again to everyone who joined us at the fundraiser and to all those who continue to support our work.
